Below is a non-exhaustive list and description of the problems I often treat
Feeling down, or hopeless, often with low motivation, poor sleep and changes to diet and weight.
Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Excessive worry about several things. The worry is difficult to control, often constant and interferes with daily life.
Social Anxiety Disorder
A fear of performance in social situations. Fears humiliation or embarrassment.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
An anxiety disorder that occurs after witnessing a traumatic event. Symptoms often include flashbacks, nightmares, jumpiness and irritability.
A fear related to an activity, object or animal, which often leads to avoidance. Fear is excessive or unreasonable in some way.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Unwanted thoughts, images or urges that bring out distressing feelings. with the carrying out of repetitive behaviours or thoughts in an attempt to relieve the distress.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder
Excessive worries or concerns about the appearance of the body in general or certain body or facial features. Often results in avoidance of social situations and/or attempts to conceal the feature of concern with clothes, make up etc.
A sudden onset of physical sensations such as sweating, dizziness and fearfulness usually peaking within 10 minutes
Persistent difficulty with getting to or staying asleep. Can have a significant impact on quality of life.
Difficulty with losing weight and/or maintaining weight loss. May have difficulties with self esteem or comfort eating. May have been advised to lose weight by GP.
